Oak Lake Island is located approximately 15 km southwest from the Town of Oak Lake.

Directions to Oak Lake Beach Provincial park are as follows: 3 miles west of the Town of Oak Lake on Transcanada Highway #1 and 6 miles south on Provincial Road #254.

Oak Lake Island is home to a cottage resort and a Provincial Park with a sandy beach and a playground.  This makes a perfect stopover for a picnic and a swim. Water activities include water skiing, boating, swimming and fishing in both summer and winter. The lake is stocked with Perch, Pickerel, and Northren Pike.  There is also a volleyball court, basketball hoops and horseshoe games.

Plum Lake Marsh is located at the South end of the Community by the Lake, and is an important staging area for waterfowl during Spring and Fall migration.  
A leisurely drive or a short walk may give you a glimpse of deer, beaver, otter, muskrat, squirrel and many species of birds.
Plum Lake is a paradise  for photographers and birdwatchers alike.
